I ordered fiberoptic internet + tv. Normally I was given the date 27 December for the start of the service; however, I have not even received the installation package. Therefore I could not make an appointment for the installation either. Only thing happened is a guy came and checked the house couple weeks ago to assess what is needed for the installation.
Is the glass fiber cable already in the house? The installation package is only send out and an internet engineer can be ordered when the cable is ready to be used. The physical installation of the cable is done by the gridoperator in your town. Odido ordered a rental towards your adres and wait for completion to be able to start the internet service.
The mentioned date is a wish date. If the cable is not yet installed, specially in appartment buildings with a home owner association, this can take more time.
No, the cable is not in the house yet. When the first guy came and checked the house he made some pictures and made a report. He said another team would come to fix the cable. Do I need to call anyone to get it in the house? I thought once the package comes then I would make an appointment with the installation guys (Guidion?)
The gridoperator does use other contractors for the installation of the cables. Guidon only installs the router and ONT after the cable is ready in order ny Odido. That can some more time. The wish date will not he met unfortunatly. Maybe this is a temporarily alternative for you to order.
Hi I checked it right away and I see that the network administrator still has to do some things for your fiber optic connection. As soon as this is possible, they will contact you directly. You will then receive your installation package and Guidion will come and install it. Feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions or if something is unclear. You have no costs for the subscription until it is delivered.
That is why I adviced a temporarily product like klik and klaar That is direct avaliable and a contract term of only one month. This is a high speed 5G mobile product but gives a full router with wifi connection to your household. Once the fiber is finally delivered you can stop the klik and klaar product again. The cost is only €25 per month including the 5G router.

Just an update. After 6 months, they still did not install fiberoptic cable. How is this acceptable?

I know the process. But I know it now. I wish I was told when I asked for internet.
When I gave my address they told me that Fiber was available for my address. They should have told me that it would take several months before I could get it. Then I would opt for another internet provider or type of service
They gave me a time frame saying that the expected date was after 3 weeks or a month.
I could understand if there was no cable underground in the neighborhood area so it would require a lot of digging the road, arranging the traffic etc. But the cables were already there. Even if they were not, then Odido should not say that fiber is available in my street
I called Odido several times to tell the situation. They told me that it was out of their hands and opendutch fiber is responsible. That's another story. Odido should be able to make amends with the company if they are unable to fulfill the task.
