Hello,

First of all orry for posting in English on a Dutch Forum :(.

Seems I have a problem with my T56, a problem I saw someone talk about before ( I copied the title since it's exactly my experience  as well)

Symptoms, which have started recently without any major changes on the network:

I notice my internet connection dropping ( devices no longer work over WIFI )

I try logging into the modem to reboot it ( lazy enough to not go to it fizicaly)

Web Portal does not load at all.

I power cycle it and then it magically works.

I checked system logs for possible issues ( none found).

The issue happens once in a while ( few days apart) at randome time frames.

I tried increasing the DHCP Lease time to 30 days, in case it's getting congested on renewal and there's a CPU Overload, it did not healp.

Calling in with Tech Support landded me with a unsuported Access Point on Port3 with too many clients connected ( over 18). Apparently a Deco Access point is not supported by Oddido equipment.

Now I am unsure as to why the modem freezes, it seems as if it's running out of resources when trying to do SOMETHING, I have no idea what that something is.

My question at this point, is it better to give up on the provided equipment and get a Fritz box or try to fix this situation?

It's got all Wifi features disabled and I use the Decos as Access Points.

Did you make sure EasyMesh (that last tab) is disabled too? (It's a different setting from wifi and it can interfere with the mesh function of the Deco).

If you have multiple Deco's (for example a set of 3) then you could also just replace the Zyxel with a main Deco (set as routermode and VLAN 300).

The Deco's can be used in combination with the Zyxel but then it's better to disable wifi and EasyMesh on the Zyxel because it can interfere with the mesh function of the Deco's. That's why it's easier in that case to just leave the Zyxel out (only possible if you don't use telephony functionality in the Zyxel because in that case you still need the Zyxel).

That is something I did not think about. I'll keep it in mind.

At this point I use the Zyxel for its additional ports. It's got all Wifi features disabled and I use the Decos as Access Points.

On top of the 1 port used for the Main Deco, I have 2 more used for LAN connection.

I am then left with a question as to why the Zyxel is freezeeing, if it's compatible with a Deco, why would Tech Support state it's  not:)) did they just try to upsell me on the Odido provided one?

Any ways, I think I am looking at hardware/software issues with modem that I personally don't know how to address.

I just disabled it! Thank you for the inforrmation!

Will check and see if this offers stability to the modem.

Been running the modem for a month without EasyMesh enabled.
I’ve not suffered any further modem freeze !
Thank you for the assistance.
