I have just traveled to Switzerland and, to my surprise, I have no data. I also got an sms asking if I wanted to buy data for Switzerland.
I have the unlimited subscription and that has never happened before in any european country, for example. Is this some sort of error or misconfiguration? Is it because of Switzerland specifically?

Switserland is not an EU country. Your subscription does not have free data usage in Switserland. As per the information you received, once you buy a bundle the mobile internet will start to work.
