Network connection refused in Germany

I'm travelling in Germany and telekom.de network is often forcing me into "Emergency Calls Only" mode, and even WiFi calling will fail. No amount of rebooting my phone has helped this. All of my companions on other providers have network access without issue. I can be standing in a place with perfect/full reception and suddenly the connection drops to "Emergency Calls Only".

This has happened multiple times since Tuesday Nov 18, for hours at a time where I cannot use my mobile connection for any purpose.

I contact the chat bot who says to call the advisors, but I cannot even make a WiFi call! So now I am posting here.

There is no blockage on my account, no setting disabling my connection, no amount of resetting has helped, it must be an Odido issue?

Hello @CowsGoMoo Nice that you're travelling in Germany. I completely understand that you want to use internet over there, I'm happy to look with a solution with you! There have been some issues with roaming abroad in recent days, but these have now been resolved and everything should be working properly again. Could you restart your device again?

Could you check whether your device's software is up to date? You can also reset your phone's network settings. On an Android device, you can do this as follows: Settings > General management. Then select Reset and then Reset network settings. If you have an iPhone, you can do this as follows: Settings > General > Transfer or reset [device] > Reset > Reset network settings. Please note that connected devices will need to be reconnected. Then try to manually connect to a network from another provider. You can do this via your device's settings.

If it still doesn't work, I would like to check with you whether everything is set up correctly in your subscription. Could you please provide your full name, phone number, postal code + house number, date of birth, and the last 4 digits of the bank account number we have on file in your profile and let me know when you have done so? Then I can check it with you right away!

Hello @CowsGoMoo

In the EU Odido is dependant on the network coverage there, try manually choosing another network provider.

Due to roaming agreements, all other networks are forbidden. O2 and Vodafone do not work.

I have reset my phone and am still having the same issues in Belgium now. Albeit, now it only last minutes at a time instead of hours so that's an improvement.

I can confirm I have the latest software updates.

If there is an issue with roaming abroad it would be nice to be informed without having to make a new online account and complaining 😃 Given that this impacted even my ability to call support this seems pretty serious.

I have filled out my profile.

Hi @CowsGoMoo Thank you for filling in your profile details! I checked right away and I don't see any blockages or other issues with your subscription. Your Mijn Odido account also shows that you are in Belgium and your bundle is active, so that's good. I see that you also used data yesterday. Is your internet working now?

Are you unable to manually select a network from another provider? What exactly do you see in your phone's settings?

Can you check in the settings whether the APN name is set correctly? It should say internet.mobiel. If something else is listed, it may not work. You can then manually change it to internet.mobiel and restart your device.

I look forward to hearing from you!
