Hi @HappySalad, thank you for the code. The verification is now complete!

I've looked into your specific case with the team responsible for the Sonos campaign. What I found is that the registration for the promotion was never completed on your account, and the campaign itself has since closed, which means new requests can no longer be processed at this point.

The terms for this promotion were linked to the page where you placed an order, you can still find the terms and conditions here.

I do understand this isn't the outcome you were hoping for, especially given everything you've shared about how the promotion influenced your decision to subscribe. My apologies for the inconvenience. If you have any further questions about this, let us know. The community is here for you!

Very disappointing answer @Cem van Odido.

I am literally speechless to see how tricky Odido played this game, especially in a country such NL, where there is an expectation where there is a keen eye on consumers’ rights.

I tried to solve it in an amicable way on this platform, but as it is a matter of principle and feeling literally cheated by Odido, I'll pursue the legal ways I have at hand, since the company employs deceptive marketing practices that deliberately create false expectations, mislead consumers, and enable it to gain customers through methods that are unfair, potentially unlawful, but for sure fail to respect consumers’ rights.

Thank you at least for taking the time to look into my problem.

Hi @HappySalad ,

With these opportunity's there are always conditions. You have to follow this strict,  there is nothing against the consumer laws.

Maybe the problem is that you couldn't read the Dutch terms or used Google translate?

Hi @eric, fully understandable what you say, but please tell me that you really find the time to read all ToRs, T&Cs disclaimers and caveats in all subscriptions you apply for.

As I said in my post earlier few days ago, these are fake marketing strategies because they apply something that's called in the industry half-pregnant approach. Try to google a bit and you'll understand better.

A promotion is an incentive to attract new clients (or extend collaboration with old ones) and there are some basic rules: to be honest, easy to be applied, transparent, straightforward and not create unfair competition with other players in the market. And if you want to commit to them and respect your consumers, there is no room in this picture for first-come/first served scenarios, no while-stocks-last situations, no additional registration in a link that is in a T&C with “small letters” etc.

That's why I intend to notify the consumer protection authorities, the commissions authorized to verify the legality of these campaigns. And once again, I will do it because it is a matter of principle, and not at all about financial loss.

I wrote here hoping for a reasonable mediation after seeing that many customers are complaining about this situation. Do you think it is normal for this to happen?

I would say, this is quite normal for every promotion in this market. Even if it is a cashback or free add on product by a phone vendor, you always have to follow the proces and timelines for such promotion. Claim, present evidence (like a contract or send in a photo etc) with strict dates to complete that. I aggree that these promotions could be more flexibile, but the promotion with Sonos is no exception in the market.
