Can I transfer contract on my name and pay with revolut?

Hello,

My two-year mobile subscription with Odido will end in May. I would like to keep the current phone number active, but there is an additional situation I would like to explain.

The number and contract are currently registered under my friend’s name. He is the account holder, and he will soon close his Dutch bank account.

I would like to take over this phone number and transfer the contract into my name, if possible. However, I also do not have a Dutch bank account. I only have a Revolut account with an IBAN.

Could you please advise what would be the best solution in this case?

Is it possible to transfer the subscription and number into my name, and use my Revolut IBAN as the payment account?

If that is not possible, can the contract remain under my friend’s name and be paid from his Revolut account instead?

If neither option is possible, can we switch the number to FreeFi / prepaid and keep the same number active?

Our main goal is to keep the current phone number active and continue using it without needing a Dutch bank account.

I would appreciate any advice about the best option and the steps we should take.

Thank you in advance.

Hi! I’m taking over from Marciano so we can make sure your payment details are up to date. I’ve updated your IBAN right away. Please note that there is already an invoice ready at the moment. This invoice will not be collected from your new bank account yet; the new IBAN will be used starting from the next invoice that becomes available online.

So your current invoice will still be collected from your old IBAN. If that doesn’t work or the amount is refunded, you can still pay the invoice yourself. Want to pay quickly and easily? You can do so with iDEAL | Wero: https://www.odido.nl/my/facturen. Very convenient, and we process your payment quickly.

Prefer to pay manually? Transfer the amount to bank account NL03 COBA 0733 959 717 in the name of Odido. Don’t forget to include your Odido customer number in the payment description. You can find this number on your invoice, so we know who the payment is from.

Everything about paying your bill can be found here.

I also saw that you sent additional questions to Marciano. I do need to ask you to post any additional questions in the topic from now on, so we keep one clear overview. The DM is really only for verification and privacy-sensitive information.

I’m happy to explain why your contract takeover was declined. A contract takeover is only possible when the contract is still within its fixed contract term. I can see that your contract term has already ended. That’s why a contract takeover is not possible.

Has the fixed contract term of the mobile number ended? Then the person who wants to take over the subscription is better off simply taking out a new Odido subscription. You can then request number porting to move your 06 number to the new subscription. Once the number is transferred to the new subscription (and the correct name), the old Odido subscription will automatically be cancelled.

You can find our offers and place an order easily on our website.
Prefer a personal offer? I understand. I can’t provide offers through this channel. Please call my colleagues on 0800 - 7123 (Mon–Fri 08:00–20:00, Sat 09:00–17:30).

You’re also welcome to visit one of our Odido Shops. You can find the nearest shop here. Together with my colleague, you can discuss all options—we’re sure there’s something that suits you.

Will you be able to proceed like this?

Hello @Mateusz Panasiewicz

Changing to contract name is possible after the end date of your contract.

Using an EU IBAN is possible, a moderator van help you with that as you cannot do it yoursel.

Switching to prepaid is also possible but you will pay a fine for the remaining months, call the customer support herefore.

Thank you for your reply.

The current contract ends on 3 May 2026 and it is a mobile subscription.

If possible, I would like to continue with the current package and keep the same phone number. My preferred option would be to transfer the contract into my name and change the payment account to my Revolut IBAN, as I do not have a Dutch bank account.

Could you please advise what would be the best way to arrange this?

Is it possible to complete the full process remotely / online, including:

transferring the contract into my name

changing the payment account to Revolut

continuing the current package without interruption

If any documents or identification are required, please let me know as well.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi Mateusz, first off; welcome to our community. Great to see that you've been with us for at least 2 years and that you would like to stay with us. I totally understand that you would like to keep your phone number, and I'm happy to look into it for you. You can read all about taking over your friend's contract (Contractovername) on this page. I've also sent you a private message to verify your information. Please reply via private message with the requested info, so I can look into your account and find out the best way for you to keep your phone number and change the contract. Like @Waqqas said I can change the IBAN for you, but I will have to double check if it's best to do this before the change of contract or if it's possible for you to use your Revolut IBAN during the Contractovername. I look forward to your reply! 😊

Good morning Mateusz, thanks for your private message! The last thing to verify your information; I've just sent you a verification code per SMS. Please pass me this code in a reply under this topic and then me or my colleague can look into your account!

Hi Mateusz, I hope you had a great weekend. Thank you for the verification code. I'm looking into your account right now, and because I need your new IBAN, I've sent you another private message with some more information. You can also change your IBAN in Mijn Odido on this page: Persoonlijke gegevens - Betalingsdetails | Odido. If it doesn't work for you, please see my private message and I will help you further!

I look forward to your reply!

Just to make sure I understand correctly:

Since the fixed contract term has already ended and the new Revolut IBAN has been added successfully, is it possible to simply continue the current subscription on the existing conditions without transferring the contract to my name?

In this case, the subscription would remain under my friend’s name, while the monthly payments would be collected from my Revolut account.

Would this work without any issues long term?

Hello @Mateusz Panasiewicz

Practically that's possible.

But I'll recommend you to still apply for a contractovername sice your friend will be held responsible for unpaid invoices and normally Odído support asks the contractholder to contact them to make any changes.
