WX5600 from third party shop

Sorry for English. I recently bought an extra WX5600 access point extra from this shop: https://wifilinks.nl/products/zyxel-wx5600-t0-ax6000-access-point?srsltid=AfmBOor5QMCsM1xpOM_OOPnHbf-fQ1RiA4Df0VfBgDdcqT3flWqjxEb-

I read in another thread that Odido does not allow /support buying this AP from external provider so I am a bit concerned. It seems to work perfectly and seems to have come with Odido firmware.

So my questions are:

Does Odido allow the usage of this access point when bought from external providers?  What if it the AP does not come with odido firmware ?

Is it possible to use the AP with other routers different that the Odido one? (in case I decide to install my own router instead of Odido's)?

I find concerning that 3rd party shops resell a AP that is supposed to work with a specific provider and a specific firmware. Would like some clarification in case i should stop using this extra one I bought.

Hello @solemgar

It should work but you'll need to keep him updated yourself.

You can connect the AP to another router but it might not work in a mesh network so it will have its own WiFi netwerk.

This AP is also available with stock firmware (no Odido firmware).

Thanks everyone for the answers! That was very helpful!

Actually… according to other topics… those devices, if supplied with Odido firmware, will update itself when connected to the Odido router and network.

You probably won’t get support for them though.

And as far as I know… the WX5600 with Odido firmware should only work in mesh configuration (not AP) so it needs to connect to a EasyMesh router (according to the post below).

I’m not sure about the legality… but Odido won’t stop you from using them (but without support).
