Hi,

I am trying to setup a Google nest deurbel and Google Nestcam. They are not connecting to the Odido Wifi network. After 4-5 calls with Odido, they asked me to put this question here.

I have tried the following:

  • setup a mobile hotspot and connect the above devices. They work on the hotspot. But, as soon as the hotspot is switched off and try to connect again to the Wifi - it does not work.
  • I have tried setting up a mobile hotspot with the same network details as the Odido wifi, and try the above steps again. It does not work
  • I have switched off 5G and tried to connect to the 2.4G band. It does not work.

The last option left is to return the devices or move to KPN or other internet providers.

Can anybody help me here?

Hello @anindya_kar

What you can also try is go in the web interface to the menu, netwerkinstellingen, draadloos, algemeen, choose WPA2-PSK as beveiligingsmodus and click on toepassen.

You can also try go to draadloos, andere, for 802.11 modus choose b/g/n gemengd and click on toepassen to disable WiFi 6.

The router Odido provides is not great. The router is chosen to technically provide a few key requirements, such as it technically being capable of wifi 6, but doing so while having the least impact on the cost of the Odido service overall.

Good thing then, that anybody has the choice whether they agree with that logic, or prefer a different balance between performance, stability and cost.

Thanks Waqqas for the quick response. I checked in the modem webpage. The above settings are already in place.

Can you enable the guest network and see if it can connect with the guest network?
