I have a connection with 1gbps up and down speeds, not sure whether DSL or fiber, sorry. I have not noticed the globe go on and off. However, the LAN light on the media converter is continuously blinking.. not sure if that is an issue. The internet is very flaky and very disturbing.. please help.

Than you have a fiber connecction. What exactly do you mean by the internet keeps fluctuating?
The internet is flaky.. it keeps dropping often.. for both me and my wife.. you can see it as the call freezes up.. This has been going on for a few days now..

What else do you have connected wired to the router and have you tried performing a factory reset of the router by pressing the reset button on the back of the router for about 10 seconds using a small needle?
I have connected my TV. No i have not performed a factory reset of my router. Is it necessary? After that how do i reconfigure it?

After a factory reset all the settings will go to default so if you have made any changes to the WiFi credentials for example, you'll need to change them again.
It's worth trying, it could help.
