About moving and fiber installation

Hi,

 

I’m already an Odido internet customer, and I placed an order for moving on May 26. The moving date of the connection was 25 July (which happened now since the internet at the old address is gone immediately), and installation appointment was made for 28 July (which I don’t have any email or SMS confirmation anywhere and there is nowhere I can check myself).

 

We just moved to the new house, and I realized the fiber optic connection (blue cable) is outside the house on the street. My main question is: will this appointment install the cable inside the house as well? My expectation is that I will have internet connection on July 28. 

 

Can you please assist?

Fiber installation towards your house is done by the local gridprovider. This can be for example KPN networks, Delta or ODF. When the optical cable is ready for use, Odido will be informed and they will send you a router and an appointment link for Guidion. This installerservice for inhouse equipment will install the router and test the internetservice.

So, if you have made an appointment with Gudion, but the cable is not in, you better cancal that, Guidion can not bring up the service without a fiber in your house. If it is an appointment with somebody else, it could be the contractor send by the gridprovider. They will bring in the cable.

Hi Eric,

Thank you for the explanation and your help.

I reported my move 2 months ago, and Odido planned this. I don’t think the appointment was even with Guidion, I was sent an appointment link directly by Odido (that starts with https://odf.eu1.zappter.com/app/). The problem is, they verified the appointment date & time on phone, and now I don’t have any records of this appointment (no email, SMS or anything), so I’m completely blind.

I have also been sent a small package by Odido but I have not unpacked it yet, I think I will keep using my old router and wifi-points, and (hopefully) this package is just the ONT. I can unpack it and check this tomorrow though.

I’m still assuming (and hoping!) that this appointment is indeed to install the fiber cable to the house, but I would like some clarity, and if I have to do something, I would rather do it immediately. 

When I’m using the moving service from Odido I would expect everything to be handled by them, or at least given information to me that I have to do something myself when I had 2 months time. Let’s hope someone from Odido can check and verify the steps I have to take.

I just now realized that the link says “ODF”, so I think this is indeed for the fiber connection.

But what will happen after then? Will I still need another appointment by Guidion?

ODF will do the installation of the fiber connection point, than Guidion needs to come to install the ONT and router, the technician will activate the ONT if needed and to the administration afterwards.

Sometimes ODF can also install the ONT and router so internet works but than Guidion still needs to come to do the administration.

Do you know if it’s possible to arrange Guidon appointment early? I wish I could have arranged the appointment before so I don’t have to wait multiple days for connection *fingers-crossed*

Once the fiber connection is made than you'll receive an email from Odido to make an appointment with Guidion. It depends on their agenda.
