Hello! Please excuse me for speaking in english, my dutch is still not the best…

Today is my installation date and I am a bit confused on what to connect to with the given amenities. I was wondering if it is possible to use a DSL Y-cable for the ISRA ports. If that’s not the case, what should I do?

Thanks in advance!

Hello @finnalh

welcome to Odido, you do not need a Y cable but you can connect from the isra straight to the DSL port on the modem. it is the left or the right one (usualy left) please check the utillity closet if you see there a isra

hello @Hidden.nld thanks for your reply.

if that’s the case, would the connection i’ve done above correct? i have connected the green cable that’s labeled “phone” from the isra (the left side which is also colored blue. the right side is non-colored) to the dsl port on the modem as shown above, it is not providing internet. do i need to do anything with the telephone connection point shown above as well?

i recently moved to my new place and that isra connection point is the only thing i can find around my room.

your connection is allright. if i am right you will get a message that the connection is ready to serve if it is connected in the local telefoon centrale and the lights will be lit green. i don’t work for Odido so i can not check it. if you fill in your adress and customerid in your profile a moderator can check the status of the connection. (some times KPN has a delay)

@Hidden.nld please disregard my last paragraph. i think i have found what you are talking about.

it is right at the entrance. i also found a small box that looks similar to what i received by odido with my house number written on it (i live in a building with multiple studios in it). do you have any idea what this box could be

alright. in that case for now, the internet is not ready yet. i did receive a text message from them this morning saying that the internet will be ready during the day, which is not the case unfortunately. i will update here if anything (or nothing) happens. thanks for your help!

uhm… yeah it looks a bit messy but that is not the isra. it might be a multi isra i recoment a infra engineer on site to check the connection.

Hello @finnalh

You need to connect the modem to the device on the first picture. Disconnect the cable connected to the left port and connect the green PHONE cable there, you can also try the port on the right hand side.

If both ports don't work than there is no signal I guess

Hey, thanks for your reply. What is the difference between the device in the first picture on this reply and the port in the middle on the last picture on my first post? I think there is another similar device on the last picture on this device that is connected to a box with the label of my house number. Does this mean that it’s connected to the KPN port that is shown above?

In the mean time, I think I will call a technician to come by and check it out.

@finnalh

Sorry I didn't look at the last photo above here, on the third photo you have a similair device indeed and the box connected to it contains your house number so that is the connection point you need.

Try connecting the modem to the device on the right (third photo).

The KPN wall connection in your living room is probably a bridge tap (connected to the white box on the third photo above here).

The box with the port in the middle is usualy the cable to your appartment. The box labled KPN is your incomming connection. 2 lines 1 left and 1 right. and you have 2 of them.

Note this is also NOT the is/ra point of the building because it uses interlan cabeling and not ground cable. so i think there is a other point in the building.
