eSIM Transfer From iPhone SE (2020) to iPhone 17e not working

I have recently swapped from iPhone SE (2020) to iPhone 17e.

I have tried transferring the eSIM in three ways:

  • Via QR code of newly requested eSim
    • Which led to the error Unable to Continue Mobile Plan Configuration.
  • Via the URL link
    • Which continuously gets stuck at the ‘De link openen? Zo Gedaan’ page.
    • Yes I tried the alternative recommended options for opening the link, all leading to the same page.
  • Via holding the two iPhones close together
    • Which led to the error Contact Network Provider to Set Up eSIM. Odido NL requires you to contact them to set up your eSIM.

How can I resolve this issue? Many thanks in advance for any responses!

Hello @dainank

Is it possible to reset the iPhone 17e and transfer the esim while configuring?

Hi @Waqqas, thanks for the response.

I ended up going to an Odido store, and was told that every modern phone is failing with eSIM at this moment (see timestamp of post).

The only workaround, is if you set it up during the initial phone-onboarding, that should still work. This is indeed what you recommend and what I did not do. Either way, going to the store also swiftly fixed the issue without needing a reset, thus all is OK now.
