Klik&klaar the appearance of jitter in games

Hello Odido Support

For the past two weeks my internet connection has become unusable for online gaming. I have frequent packet loss and jitter, which happens constantly throughout the day even at night (around 3 a.m.).

Speed and average ping are fine (ping stays around 20 - 40 ms), but the jitter and packet loss make gaming impossible. This issue did not exist before, or it happened very rarely.

Please investigate and resolve this problem. If it can’t be fixed, I will have to cancel my Odido service.

I also use a Cat 6 cable for a more stable connection, but it doesn't help.

Have you tried to setup a different DNS server (from eg Google 8.8.8.8 or Cloudflare 0.0.0.0) through the admin website on IP 192.168.1.1 ?

Oops, I have to correct myself, Cloudflare DNS is 1.1.1.1

Changing DNS doesn't affect system stability at all.

What is the area you live in? It could be an issue in the Odido Network. Rotterdam area is known to have these kind of issues in the past (last year).

Groningen, Muntendam. This happens frequently, disappears after 5-15 minutes, but it happens many times a day. Even, as I said, when people are sleeping and the network is not overloaded. I know I live in a village, but the tower is a kilometer away, and the app shows the signal level near the window is 103-100 dBm.

I see a lot of microwave links between the masts in your area on antennekaart.nl

If there is a bad link here you could have an issue. Perhaps call Odido support if they know of a network issue in your area.

I also see there is a 5G tower in Veendam and one in Zuidbroek. To what tower is the modem connecting? Does the connection change if you try to connect to the other tower (move the modem to the other side of the house)

Wherever I place the router, the maximum I can get is 4G+ 101dBm, and if I understand correctly, I'm only connected to a Zoidbroek tower. I can't call support because I don't speak Dutch or English well enough to explain what's wrong. I think Odido did something to my package after the first payment, because everything was fine during the first week (when I didn't pay), but after the first payment, lag and jitter suddenly appeared. I sincerely believe they're cutting my speed and stability

Then it could be an option for you  to stop the current subscription and request a new Klik and Klaar modem (with new SIM). Take note of the 1 month notice time. If you stop it today 6 Feb, it will be stopped on 6 March. You have to send back the old modem to prevent a 200 euro fine.

I dont know the delivery times but you can then order a new Klik and Klaar modem half March and hopefully it will work better (or better, the SIM).
