ethernet client losing IP after few minutes

I have been using Klik & Klar 5G since October with no major issues. Almost a month ago I tried for the first time to use the Ethernet connection on the router (Zyxel NR5307) and I noticed some issues . In particular,  after some time (between 10 minutes and a few hours) the connection is dropped and I cannot ping anymore google.com or any other ip and I cannot reach the device itself either. If I login to the router, it does not show the device at all.

My setup:   Zyxel NR5307 [firmware V1.00(ACJG.1)NR53_b17D0430] , a linux machine connected directly via ethernet to the router. Running ping 8.8.8.8  every few minutes, I can see on the logs the host becoming unreachable  after a period of few minutes to few hours. I have never seen it working until the next day. In the meantime I haven't seen any issue on the wireless devices.

Things I tried so far:

  • reboot router
  • factory reset on the router
  • different cables
  • different port on the router
  • added custom DNS servers under Home Networking>LAN Setup>DNS Values (1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8)
  • different machine (windows laptop) connected directly to the router via Ethernet
  • tried to set static IP on the router for the Ethernet connected device

I have seen similar issues on the forum for example:

Am I missing anything ? Is there a newer firmware I could try on the router?

There is no newer firmware, you have the latest.

Do you use an ethernet switch or do you connect a device directly in the modems LAN port? Some switches, especially managed switches, are know to cause issues (but low speeds, no connection drops).

The lights on the modem are all blue or green? No flashing or red lights?

Hi @walter.v.l  thank you for the quick response !

The device is connected directly on the zyxel modem with nothing in between.

As for the lights are Green/Blue/Blue/Green.

OK, seems all OK.

Did you enter your Klik and Klaar subscription details including last 4 digits of your bank account in the private community profile fields so a Odido Moderator can find the modem in their systems and have someone take a look at your modem logs?
