Legacy plan and Apple Watch Multisim not working

Hi everyone,

I am trying to activate cellular service on my Apple Watch, but I am permanently stuck on the standard error: "Your Odido NL account is not eligible to enable mobile service on your Apple Watch."

I am on a legacy consumer plan (grandfathered bundle) I would like to keep. Because of this, the web portal only allows me to order standalone Android eSIMs, while the iOS Watch app immediately blocks the automated setup flow before I can even log into Mijn Odido.

I understand this is likely due to my subscription sitting on an older database archetype that isn't communicating correctly with the Apple Entitlement Server.

Could a moderator please escalate this to a back-end network engineer? I would like to check if my specific database profile can be manually flagged as Multisim-eligible, or if a Multisim profile can be provisioned from the server side without altering the core terms, price, or architecture of my legacy plan.

Thank you so much!

Hi Schulzyv, welcome to our community. Great that you're using an Apple Watch! Good choice on the Multisim to get even more out of your Apple Watch. There is a known issue with ordering Multisim and receiving this error message. My colleagues are already working hard to fix this. I want to forward a case to them, to help them research this issue and fix it for you. Please answer the questions below.

  • Do you have an Apple Watch Cellular?:
  • Was the Apple Watch purchased through Odido or separately?:
  • If separately, does the third party possibly source its products from abroad?:
  • Which Apple Watch model is it, and is this model supported?:
  • IMEI number of the Watch: (please answer in private)
  • Was this Apple Watch purchased in the Netherlands?:
  • Which iOS version is installed on the iPhone?:
  • Which watchOS version is installed on the Watch?:
  • What is listed under Carrier Settings?:
  • Do you use Dual SIM?:
  • Error message:

I've also sent you a DM via Webcare Moderator. Please reply to me there so I can enter your account and forward the case. I'm sure that my colleagues will be able to fix this for you very soon!

It says specifically that ordering an eSIM via portal is for Android devices only. Apple Watch multiSIM can activated only via the Watch app from the iPhone that accompanies the watch. 🤷‍♀️ And yes, I ordered one but you can’t activate it then.

Hi Marciano,

thanks a lot for your reply and your help - appreciated.

Find my answers here:

  • Do you have an Apple Watch Cellular?: Yes GPS + Cellular
  • Was the Apple Watch purchased through Odido or separately?: Separately
  • If separately, does the third party possibly source its products from abroad?: Don't know really
  • Which Apple Watch model is it, and is this model supported?: Apple Watch Series 10 (GPS + Cellular) - and yes, it is supported
  • IMEI number of the Watch: (please answer in private)
  • Was this Apple Watch purchased in the Netherlands?: Purchased in Germany (online)
  • Which iOS version is installed on the iPhone?: iOS 27.0 (the error existed already under iOS 26)
  • Which watchOS version is installed on the Watch?: watchOS 27.0 (the error existed already under watchOS 26)
  • What is listed under Carrier Settings?: There's only "Mobile Service" available in the Watch as well as in the iPhone settings - "Carrier Settings" cannot be found - in the iPhone the network provider is stated with "Odido NL 71.5.10", "Network Provider Lock: No SIM restrictions"
  • Do you use Dual SIM?: no
  • Error message: "Your Odido NL account is not eligible to enable mobile service on your Apple Watch. Contact Odido NL for more information."

I hope that information helps you further - thanks again!

You're very welcome. Thank you for the quick reply as well. I see that you bought the Apple Watch in Germany. In that case I need to check a little bit more. Because it's Germany it should be a European version, but I want to double check. Could you please look up the model number for me? You can find it somewhere here:

Open the Watch app on your iPhone > tap the My Watch tab at the bottom > General > About > check the Model field.

The model number should start with an 'A’.

One more thing: iOS version says 27. Are you using the BETA?

You can check this Apple Support page for more information: Een Apple Watch identificeren - Apple Support (NL)

I look forward to your reply!

The model number doesn’t start with an A (I think that’s for iPhones?) but the region code is QF what is the region code for Europe - model# is MWXE3QF/A

iOS and waychOS versions are Public Beta 27. But I had that issues also before with the non-beta 26.

Let me know if you need anything else from me. 🙏

Good afternoon Schulzyv, thank you for the extra information. The model number that starts with an A should be the number for the Watch. At least according to the Apple Support page. But my guess is that they're refering to Dutch models only. In our procedure it doesn't say the model number should only start with an A, we refer to the Apple support page. So, I still want to forward a case for you. That way my colleagues can really check if we can activate Multisim for you on your Apple Watch.

Your case number is 83834849. My colleagues have been very fast lately, so I expect an update very soon. I'll take a look in your case again tomorrow or Wednesday to see if there's an update. And then, I'll let you know if they're able to make this work for you!

Hi Marciano, I checked again and indeed, when you tap on ‘Model Number‘ it toggles between the numbers and shows “A3001” - hope that helps you or your colleagues further. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
