Hello,

Since two weeks i started having internet disconection problems. To be more specific my internet connection will go down every few minutes or hours it is random.
I have tried factory reset the router and unplug the modem for a few minutes but still the problem persists.

I had a look into the router log and took a snapshot of it when the problem happened:

I am not an expert but i noticed that the lease time is quite short (30 minutes) and also the SIGTERM sounds like something catastrophic i suppose it is causing the problem.

I have already contacted support two times but didnt get to talk with someone technical yet.

Please help me resolve this as i am a heavy internet user (working from home, gaming, live stream watching, etc) and as you can imagine this situation is quite uncomfortable.

Also i am curious if anyone else is having the same problem.

Welcome to our Community! @sarantis

Thank you for alerting us about the situation, I’m sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. No worries, I’m here to help you further!
I immediately took a look at your connection, and I also see that this is not stable. I made a ticket to our Back Office so that they can investigate this for you. I’m sure they will restore your connection!

Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you in the meantime, I’m here to help!

Update : I have just received an email from Guidion in order to schedule an appointment.

@sarantis Glad to read that you have received an e-mail to schedule an appointment with the technician. I’m sure they’ll be able to restore your connection!

Update : Yesterday the technician from Guidion after checking all the cables, router and modem was not able to find any issues.
The disconnection problem tho still exists. I hope that my log can be usefull in the right hands and investigate the issue further. I havent received any update yet from Odido, i hope to receive one soon.

unfortunatelly the technican couldnt resolve the problem

Hallo @sarantis

You have a Fiber connection right?

Do you have a VLAN capable router which you can test instead of the Zyxel? Odido uses VLAN 300 for internet.

Fiber connection indeed.
I do not own a router unfortunatelly other than the one sent from Odido (Zyxel DX5401-B0). Also the technician checked all the hardware and cables and assured me that everything works correctly.

Since i posted earlier here i had 3 more disconnects, checking the log its always the same error:

70	Apr 12 20:03:17	daemon	info	dhcpc	udhcpc: Unicasting a release of 10.72.x.x to 10.72.x.x
71 Apr 12 20:03:17 daemon info dhcpc udhcpc: Received SIGTERM
72 Apr 12 20:03:12 daemon debug dhcpc udhcpc: Sending discover...
73 Apr 12 20:03:10 daemon debug dhcpc udhcpc: Sending discover...

SIGTERM received then it releases the ip address. So annoying really

Hi @sarantis, good that you pointed this out! I immediately forwarded it internally to our technical department. They will provide you with more information as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and have a nice weekend! 😊 Greetings, Ishana

I was able to borrow a router from a friend after all as per @Waqqas suggestion. The connection appears stable for the last 2 days. Can we assume that something is wrong with the Zyxel and get a replacement?

The only weird thing is that the ip lease is very short. Is this normal for Odido i wonder.

@sarantis

The short lease times are not the problem, I also see short lease times in my logs but I have a stable connection.

Looks like a new router will solve the problem. btw whoch router did you test?

An old router asus rt-ac51u, for which i had to install openwrt to make it vlan capable.

@Waqqas how can i request a new router from Odido since the old one appears to be problematic?
Also i saw my ticket from odido has been resolved already?

@sarantis

A moderator can send you a new one, wait for them to reply.

Please some moderator can you assist with getting a router replacement from Odido since it appears that the current one is causing the disconnection issues?

I have sent you a new modem @sarantis. You will receive a message about this shortly and as soon as the modem is sent you can track the shipment in Mijn Odido!

Hello @Tommie van Odido i received the new router earlier today. Once i connected it i got the same exact problem again after an hour. I am getting disconnected every hour or so. At this point i cannot really understand what is going on.
I would like some attention on this, could it be something outside of my house or the equipment? Who knows for sure not me.

Hey @sarantis, then it is not because of the modem but is network related. I have created a ticket for you with all the information for our technical department. Hopefully they can find the cause!

@Tommie van Odido it's been several days now and after replacing the media receiver my connection is now stable again. I would like to thank everyone for their help. Is there a way to mark this post as resolved?

Thank you for the update @sarantis! This is great to read. Yes, I will mark this topic as resolved!
