Nummerbehoud en vroegtijdige overstap van Lyca naar Odido

Hello,

I have an urgent question regarding the transfer of my existing mobile number to Odido.

I have just received an SMS from Odido stating that my number cannot be transferred because my current contract with Lyca Mobile is registered as ending on 15 September 2028.

However, I am requesting early/per direct number portability because I have a serious and ongoing problem with Lyca Mobile. Since 2 September 2026, I have repeatedly reported that incoming calls do not reach my phone. Despite several complaints, the problem has still not been resolved. I have also requested a replacement SIM card from Lyca, but I have received no response.

Because of this serious service problem, I need to leave Lyca, but I absolutely want to keep my existing mobile number.

Could someone from Odido please explain whether my number can be transferred per direct / early, rather than only on 15 September 2028?

I have already tried contacting Odido by telephone several times, but unfortunately the calls were disconnected before my problem was resolved. I therefore need a clear written answer.

Please also clarify whether the refusal is coming from Lyca or from Odido's number-portability system, and what I need to do to transfer my number as soon as possible.

I do not want to lose my existing mobile number.

Thank you,
Daniila Lazarova

Hi @Danaila Lazarova, it is of course extremely important that you will be able to use your own number with us. I would love to help with this! Have you already heard back from Lyca about the possibility of cancelling your contract early and the possible costs that are tied with this? As soon as they have agreed to this, we can arrange the number porting for you.

Have you already placed an order with us? In that case I would love to check the status of the order, so I can give you more clarity about this. I’ve just sent you a private message from our Moderator account to verify your details. Once the verification is complete, we’ll continue the conversation in this topic. This ensures that one of our colleagues is always available to assist you. I look forward to receiving your private message!

Hi @Danaila Lazarova ,

Odido can only request for a number porting to the old provider. If they allowed that is in the returning message,  in this case NO.

To make this a YES,  you must aggree with the old provider that they "unlock"  your number for direct transfer.  If they aggree with you on the problems, this could be done without costs. But you also can request to end their subscription early and pay them a "one off fee".

So, start communicating with Lyca about this before requesting numberporting again.

Hello @Danaila Lazarova

When ordering Odido online, you can also choose to port the number per direct with a cancellation fee.

Yes, that's exactly what I would like to do because I wouldn't want to have the second subscription.

Did Lyca inform you how high the cancellation fee will be which they will charge you? If you agree with that, they free up your number.

Hi Eric,

Thank you for your response.

No, Lyca has not informed me how much the cancellation fee would be.

However, I do not consider this a normal early cancellation. I have repeatedly reported a serious and ongoing problem with incoming calls, which Lyca has not resolved despite my complaints since 02 September.

I am therefore asking Lyca to terminate my contract due to the unresolved service problem and to release my existing number for transfer to Odido without an early termination fee.

I am currently waiting for Lyca's response regarding this request.

I do not want to agree to or pay an early termination fee before Lyca has properly addressed my complaint and confirmed the basis and amount of any proposed charge.

If you just take away your number from Lyca without they aggree ahead, the cancellation costs will be charged by them.

If they can not solve your technical problem, ask them to free your nunber and get a written statement that this will be without cancellation fee from them.

Hi Eric,

Thank you, that is exactly what I am trying to do.

I have already contacted Lyca and asked them to release my number for direct transfer to Odido because they have not been able to resolve my ongoing technical problem with incoming calls.

I have also specifically requested written confirmation that the number will be released without any cancellation fee due to the unresolved service problem.

I am currently waiting for Lyca's response. I will not request another number transfer until I have their written confirmation.

Thank you for your advice.

Well, Odido already tries to port your number and Lyca systems reported back, NO. So, there is still something wrong on that side. I hope that they will allow you to go. But could this not reachable not be a phone issue? Which operator did you have before Lyca?

Hi Nora,

Thank you for your message. Yes, I have already placed an order with Odido specifically because I want to transfer my existing Lyca number to Odido.

I have received the Odido SIM card, but I have not activated or used it because I do not want a temporary/new number or an additional subscription.

I am currently waiting for Lyca to confirm whether they will release my existing number for transfer and whether they will do so without an early termination fee due to the unresolved technical problem with incoming calls.

I would appreciate it if you could check the status of my Odido order and confirm that the order will not automatically turn into a subscription with a temporary number while I am waiting for Lyca's response.

I will provide the requested details through the private message.

Kind regards,
Danaila

Hi Danaila, if you've ordered a subscription with us, but Lyca doesn't agree to freeing your number, the subscription with us will turn into a new subscription with the temporary number that you've received. Please reply to the private message my colleague sent you via Webcare Moderator quickly. I'm happy to take a look at the order. But chances are that I'll have to ask you to call my colleagues of Telesales (0800-7123) to cancel the order if Lyca doesn't respond in time.

Hi Marciano,

Thank you for your response. I still have not received any response from Lyca.

I absolutely want to keep my current phone number and I would like my number to be transferred to Odido. I do not want a new subscription with a temporary or new number.

If it is indeed possible, I would like Odido to arrange the number transfer for me. Please let me know what you need from me and what I should do next to make this happen.

I really hope you can help me with this, as I have been trying to resolve this issue with Lyca for some time now.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Good afternoon Danaila, thank you for your reply in DM! I've looked into your account and I see that is currently no request for number porting, because the 2 previous requests have been rejected. This is because your current subscription with Lyca still runs until September 15th, 2028. The earliest we can transfer your number is 15 September 2028. You can request number porting up to 120 days in advance. This means you can submit a new request from around 18 May 2028. You will have to wait until Lyca approves your early termination of their subscription and for them to allow us to port your phone number to us. In the meantime I highly suggest you call with my colleagues from Telesales on 0800-7123. They will need to cancel your order. If you don't cancel, your subscription with us will start on 8 January 2027 (4 months after your order). But then you will have both our subscription and Lyca's subscription. If you really want to cancel your subscription with Lyca, please keep trying to reach them. Until then, we are not allowed to take over your phone number. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Good afternoon,

Thank you for checking this for me.

I have now finally received a written response from Lyca. They have confirmed that my account number 20284107690 can be used to transfer my number to another network provider.

I have also explicitly confirmed to Lyca that I want to cancel my contract and transfer my existing telephone number to Odido. I have asked them to release my number and to cooperate with the number portability process.

Therefore, I would like to ask you to please check again whether, based on this new confirmation from Lyca, it is now possible to proceed with my number transfer to Odido.

I absolutely do not want a new number. I want to keep my existing Lyca number and transfer it to Odido.

Regarding my Odido order, I understand that if the number transfer cannot be completed, I would end up with a second subscription and a temporary number. I do not want this to happen. I only want the Odido subscription if my existing number

can be transferred to it.

Please also let me know whether I still need to call Telesales to cancel the Odido order, or whether you can keep the order pending while Lyca processes the cancellation and number release.

I can provide Lyca's written confirmation if required.

Thank you very much for your help.

Kind regards,
Daniila Lazarova

Hi Daniila, I'm glad to hear that Lyca confirmed that we can request number porting with your account number. I immediately requested number porting for as soon as possible. We will keep you updated via SMS. Did you receive the first SMS just now? It might take a few hours, maybe until tomorrow. Please have your Odido sim card ready. And please keep me up to date as well! 😊

Hi,

Thank you for your message. I understand that normally the number cannot be transferred while my Lyca contract is still active.

However, there has been an important change in my situation. I have now received a written response from Lyca confirming that I can transfer my existing number to another network provider. They have also asked me to confirm the cancellation of my Lyca contract, which I have done.

Lyca has provided me account number for the transfer…

I have attached/provided Lyca's written confirmation as proof.

Therefore, I kindly ask you to check my case again and confirm whether, based on Lyca's written confirmation and their agreement to cancel my contract, my existing number can now be transferred to Odido before 15 September 2028.

I do not want a new number or a second subscription. My intention is only to transfer my existing Lyca number to Odido.

Could you please also confirm whether you can submit a new number-porting request once Lyca processes the cancellation, or whether there is anything else you need from me or from Lyca?

Thank you for your help.

Kind regards,

Danaila Lazarova

Hi Danaila, thank you for the confirmation. I did the request yesterday, but I got a rejection saying you were still under contract with Lyca. I did another request just now. I will check the request at the end of the day, hoping to see an acceptation by the end of the day. I will keep you up to date!
