SIM lock / Unlock code request for Zyxel NR5307 (Used in Italy)

Hello,

I am contacting you because I purchased a second-hand Zyxel NR5307 router, which was originally distributed by Odido.

I am trying to use this device in Italy, but it appears to be network-locked and does not accept Italian SIM cards. Could you please provide the Network Unlock Code (NUC) or lift the IMEI restriction for this device?

Here are the device details:

  • Model: Zyxel NR5307
  • Current Firmware Version: QuectelT830R03A01_xx.001.xx.001

Thank you very much for your help.

Best regards,
Franco

Hi @Francox ,

You bought an illigal product. Odido Nederland never sold this unit, it was only rented as part of the klik and klaar subscription.  At the end of the rental period, the router should be send back to Odido. Sometimes people "forget"  this and think they can sell it. But it was not the property of the Odido customer, so it can't be sold, nor is there any process to undo the restrictions. There is specific Odido firmware on this unit, so it is not usebale for you. You better sell it back to the "thief"..

B.T.W. are you sure it has Odido firmware? Maybe the seller already put another firmware on it. Firmware from Odido looks like V1.00(ACJG.0)NR53_b7D0528.

But yes, it's best to ask for 'support' from the seller because Odido doesn't sell these devices (you only get one on loan with a subscription).

Purtroppo l'ho acquistato in un mercatino dell'usato e non riesco più a trovare il venditore. Grazie per la risposta e grazie a tutti i membri della community.

Unfortunately, I bought it at a second-hand market and can no longer find the seller. Thanks for the reply, and thanks to everyone in the community.

What made you believe it was a device from Odido?

The firmware seems to be one from a Italian provider (looking at that Quectel IT firmware).

I also see some mention for firmware on this page

https://www.quectel.com/tech-support/

Maybe they can help you further. (Maybe they do sell those devices)

They even have a forum.

For another device it was suggested to get the standard firmware from Zyxel (which succeeded). So you could also try that.

Thanks for the help; I went to check the other day, but it seems there is nothing for the NR5307 model.

Yeah, that's Odido firmware.

You could try to contact Zyxel to see if they have standard firmware for it (but I see you already tried in their forums). Otherwise I think you're out of luck (other than non legal ways). I think the Odido firmware is locked down (at least it is in the normal fiber ones so I guess the same goes for the mobile one) so even if you got the standard firmware, updating it isn't straightforward.

Good luck.

Thank you again for your help. I would be very disappointed if I couldn't resolve this, especially since so far I have only suffered a financial loss.
