Since past few days my router (Zyxel EX5601-T1) losses public IP every few hours. I have to restart it every time to get a new IP.

Router Info:

  • Model Name - EX5601-T1
  • Firmware Version - V5.70(ACEA.0)T56C_b8_1108

Has any one faced this issue. If yes did you find a solution.

I noticed some dhcp request not being answered today also. But in my case the subsequent request did get an answer each time, before the lease expired.

Example:

Dec 24 08:38:35 daemon.info udhcpc: dhcpMsgSend: msgType[-2147483403]
Dec 24 08:48:47 daemon.debug udhcpc: Sending renew...
Dec 24 08:58:19 daemon.debug udhcpc: Sending renew...
Dec 24 08:58:19 daemon.info udhcpc: Lease of 10.79.x.x obtained, lease time 3027

Note that you can tell the first request was received by the lease time number. This would otherwise be 3600. So apparently it was the response that got lost somehwere along the away.

I have only been monitoring my logfile since the last couple of days, so I don’t know if this sort of thing is relatively common or not.
