New campaign started just days after my contract — can Odido really not adjust?

Hi Odido team,

I recently signed up for Odido Fiber (1 Gbit) on 15 August. Just three days later, a new campaign started (Prijzen Slag) offering the same connection for around €20/month for the first 12 months (instead of €30).

When I contacted customer service, I was told the only way to get this promotion is to cancel my entire contract, return the router, wait for a new one, and have another technician appointment.

To me, this seems very illogical and wasteful:

  • I already have a working connection.
  • Odido would need to pay for shipping the old router back, sending out a new one, and technician time.
  • In the end, the service delivered is exactly the same — only the billing is different.

What makes this more frustrating is the long journey I already had just to get fiber here. I’ve been waiting since February, and it took many phone calls with Odido and ODF before my connection was finally installed and working. So asking me to restart the entire process now — simply because a new promotion launched days after my contract — feels unreasonable for both sides.

I completely understand that promotions are normally “for new customers only.” But this situation is different: I am a new customer, and the campaign launched only a few days after my start date.

Wouldn’t it be more reasonable for Odido to simply adjust my monthly price or apply a credit, instead of going through an unnecessary cancellation and re-installation process? It would save time, money, and resources for both sides — while also showing fairness to customers who happened to start right before a new campaign.

I’d really appreciate if this could be reconsidered or escalated. I’d love to stay long-term with Odido, but starting out with this kind of disadvantage compared to someone who signed up just days later doesn’t feel right.

Thanks for looking into this!

You signed the contract much longer ago than a few days. It takes time to ship and get you connected and there will always be different offers in the market. You signed up with a new customer offer included and can not change to a different offer later.

Of course due to the regulations, the free cancellation period starts after the product has been working,  but cancellation wiĺl result in a direct disconnect and start the process from the start again.

Offers come and go, so you got a good deal when comparing in the past, now enjoy it.

Hello @Ozymandiass

I had the exact same situation but Odido can't do anything in this case for you. odido cannot make any changes to the contract.

Thanks for the replies.

Do you know if it is possible to do the following:

  • Cancel the contract based on the legal rights (free cancellation period).
  • Start a new contract right away.
  • No old router return/receive new one. Keep the existing equipment.
  • No POP patching drama.

I am fine with a couple of days disconnection from the service.

Thanks.

@Ozymandiass

If you want a new contract thereafter, you will need to wait till the Odido connection has stopped. After ordering a new subscription the whole process will start again so you will be without internet for atleast 2 weeks.

Returning the equipment is necessary because it's bound to your subscription.

Thanks @Waqqas

Do you think there will be connection costs for the new subscription?

@Ozymandiass

With the new campaign there are no additional costs but it's up to you if you want to cancel, return the equipment, start all over again and be without internet for a minimum of 2 weeks.
