My internet+Tv subscription cancellation


Hello dear, I have been a customer with odido for over a year so far. I got a letter from odido by post saying that the fiber connection is now available in my street and all I have to do is just upgrade so I upgraded. Tow months now and just checking my transaction and noticed that 44 euros is was deducted from my account for internet and the increase turned out to be for Tv. Although I do not watch Tv channels and barely use it. It looks like when i upgraded it was automatically chosen for me. How can I cancel only the Tv subscription please?

If I understand correctly, you’ve upgraded your subscription from DSL to Fiber and now the TV subscription has also been added to your subscription. Is this correct? 

At this point, I can’t see your information yet, but I want to take a closer look. Would you mind adding your personal information (zip code, house number, date of birth, and the last 4 digits of your bank account number) to your community profile? You can do this by clicking on your profile (right corner) > press ‘Profiel bewerken’. 

Please let me know when you’re ready in this topic. I will help you straight away!

Thank you so much for your reply. I have edited my profile with all the needed information. And yes the problem is exactly as you mentioned, Tv abonnement has been added to my internet sub. without me knowing.

I’ve immediately looked into the situation for you. I indeed see that you have requested a network migration (DSL > Fiber), and that the TV package is included. However, from what I can see you’ve had the TV package since the start of your subscription in 2023. 

I do understand however the confusion, because at the start of your subscription you were able to enjoy the welcome discount on the TV package. This included a full discount (€12,50) on TV for 8 months.

@Teresa van Odido  Good morning, I have actually never used the Tv subscription and I did not know that it was in my subscription from the beginning. Maybe because it was not effecting the price. I don't understand why is it chosen by default. When I choose an internet connection I seek for subs that are under my budget and reasonable cuz  I have also the phone sub as well so this internet connection+Tv is unreasonably more expensive than my needs. Can I cancel the Tv subscription an remain only with the internet.

Hi ​@AmgadShamsan, I see that you are already out of your contract period, then this is certainly possible! However, it has a notice period of 30 days. Do you agree with this? Then I can cancel TV as of April 8, 2025. You can also cancel it on Mijn Odido: Mijn Odido Internet + TV | Bekijk je facturen of wijzig je abonnement voor thuis. Let me know if you need help with this! 😊

Hi ​@Ishana van Odido, I have tried to do so on my Odido but it didn’t work out. It says that I can’t cancel it because I am out of my 1 month period. So can you please cancel it for me? Is it possible to cancel my internet subscription as well? And do I have to pay any cancelation costs?

Hi ​@AmgadShamsan, I am sorry! My colleague made a tiny mistake, we indeed can't change your subscription now. The reason is that we are currently working on the migration to Fiber. As this is an open order, I can't change it at the moment. Please contact us when the order is completed an you are enjoying your new Fiber subscription. Then I will cancel TV without a fee!

Hi ​@Cheyenne van Odido, oh okay now I understand. I am still paying for my last subscription but the discount is over! Sorry for the confusion I thought this is my new subscription I didn't know it would take this long. Can you tell me please how long does it take usually to fully start functioning? Hey ​@AmgadShamsan, of course I want you to switch to fibre as soon as possible. I went to check for you and found that there is no signal coming in from the district exchange. I've created a ticket for you to investigate this further, so that the delivery gets some momentum. Hopefully we will hear back soon.
