I am a customer since January 2025 more or less and I have internet at home + TV + 2 sim cards.
Since I changed, I had many issue with internet at home (spoiler alert: I think all is related to the router Zyxel EX5601-T1).
All the smart devices I have (since many years) started to be randomly on/off-line (Alexa’s,TV’s, Shelly up to cheap SmartLife devices).
Moreover, since a month, my laptop and the laptop of my wife simply don’t work with both ODIDO wifi & cabled connections.
Reading around I saw that the mesh 2.4G/5G can be a problem with many smart device devices, so I disabled the 5G completely and this seems to have solved the smart devices issue (or at least they go offline much less than before, but still time to time it happens).
But the problem of the laptops are making me nervous. I called few times the assistance but out of hours lost, nothing worked, tried different things (reset the router, swap cables from ports, replace cables, reset network on the laptops..). In one last call I was asked to contact the IT of my employer to solve this (in my laptop). But the laptop works literaly everywhere, it connetcs to just every wifi you can find around, I am not bother my working IT for that. Instead I would easily change provider and go back to KPN where I had NO ISSUE AT ALL iin the last 6 years. Other cabled connection works. Laptops worked well the first 2 months, then nothing. Last time they worked was last week for a couple of days, then nothing again..
I read that the Zyxel router gives many problems. I am currently working from home with Tethering from my mobile phone. Funnny enough, I found out that if I cannot to a TP-link extender of 20 euro, the wifi works!
I am not an IT expert, I can barely connect to my router for some basic stuff, but any suggestion is welcome.
Else, I would kindly ask ODIDO to replace the router with something else, or top be allowed to change provider without any penalty in short time, since this way I cannot go on.
