How to create VPN connection on ZYXEL DX5401-B0

Hello,

I am trying to configure VPN connection on my Zyxel router. Can someone help me with the instructions as how can i setup VPN connection to the Zyxel router through my mobile device (iPhone).

I want to access some of the electronic devices remotely when I am not at home.

Hello @aniket.chaudhari you want to acces some camera’s or devices like when your away from at home?

Then port mapping is what you need. Wich is completely different to VPN

If your modem is setup with the English language you'll find this in

3 stripes menu (Top richt corner) → Network Setting → NAT → Port forwarding.

Hi @aniket.chaudhari

The DX5401-B0 does not have VPN Server (Applies to all TM modems btw). If you want to make a VPN connection back home, you will need a device behind the modem to do that.

Can you tell me what kind of device? Or do i need to change the modem?

You can either change the modem for one that had a VPN Server.

See for the connection requirments. 

 

But a VPN server can also run a computer for example have a look at; https://www.vpnmentor.com/blog/how-to-make-your-own-vpn-server/
