Problem with phone recycle invoice

Dear Team,

I got a final invoice for payment of recycling phone for 288euro (Ph no: XXX*), which I don’t agree with.

Can you send me the proof of the contract that I signed for it? I have cancelled my debit amount till I receive a proper proof and explanation from odido regarding this.

PS: I’m no longer in the Netherlands, so my physical address is invalid.

Warm Regards,
Hemanth Jaladi

Hi Hemanth, I’ve taken a direct look at your situation and I’m here to give you clear insight.

You mentioned that you purchased your phone through an external dealer. This means the contract is managed by that dealer, and they are the ones who can provide you with a copy of your signed agreement. From here, I’m not able to resend that contract, so I recommend contacting the dealer directly for this.

I also checked your invoice, and I can see that you made use of the Recycle Deal. This is a setup where you paid a lower monthly amount for your phone during your contract, because you agreed to sell the device back to Odido at the end.

Here is how the Recycle Deal works:

* You could return (sell back) your phone up to 21 days after the end date of your contract
* This could be arranged easily through your personal Mijn Odido account or at an Odido Shop
* The phone needed to meet certain conditions, like working properly and without heavy damage
* The agreed buy-back price was fixed when you started your contract

Since this period has now passed, the phone can no longer be returned to us. That is why the remaining amount is now charged in one final invoice. It’s also good to know that your monthly device cost was lower than €15 because of this Recycle Deal. Without it, your monthly costs would have been higher. The amount you see now is the remaining part that was postponed.

Let me know if this explanation gives you the clarity you were looking for. I’m here to help further if needed!

Hi Hemanth, and welcome to our community. It’s great that you had a subscription with Odido when you lived in the Netherlands! I’d be happy to help and make sure you get clarity on this right away. I have removed your phone number from your message. For your own safety, never share personal information publicly.

Could you tell me exactly what you disagree with in this topic? I can have your contract sent to you again. I’ve just sent you a private message to verify your details. Once the verification is completed, we’ll continue here in this topic. We do this so that there is always a colleague available to help you.

I’m looking forward to your private message! Please note: only share your personal details there. If you have any additional questions, always post them here in the topic.

You can also contact third party and please deal with directly. Sorry, but I’m not paying until I get a proof of contract from you or the third party especially when I’m already charged more for my contract than the agreed amount. :)

You signed rhis contract with the retailer. Odido is only the executer of the order which the retailer send to them. Any flaws ir mistakes in the contract you need to take up with the seller of the product.  Unfortunatly,  if the invoice is not paid, a collection agency will be asked to collect the debt.  You can manually transfer the money to the bankaccount of Odido if needed.

I never said I wouldn’t pay, you accepted the contract from the party and please contact them in this case as well. You can send this to the agency but without any proofs you saying I have to pay something is not how it works as well.

Hi, I understand that you’d like to see proof if you’re not entirely sure whether you actually started your subscription this way. Due to privacy regulations, we’re not able to request your contract ourselves, only you can do that. I therefore recommend that you contact them directly; they can provide you with the contract.

Please let me know here if everything is clear now. If you have any questions, I'm here to help!

Hi,

Yes, I already contacted them and they don’t respond. If you’re charging me and I don’t agree with it, either please respond to me with a valid proof regarding the my monthly payments and recycle payment or charge the money from the third party. Without a proper proof I’m not going to take a loss.

Thank you for your understanding.

You did choose for a 3th party/ retailer to apply for the subscription.  If that party is not reponsing than you can not expect the provider to take over that roll. These retailers can be cheaper than providers as they have a different customer care policy. It is a free market, that is allowed, but you as a customer need to take that all in account when selecting a vendor.
