Amongst multiple phone calls to the cancellation department & client services and emails to incasso@odido.nl to try to cancel my subscription, I have yet to succeed. Odido has annoyingly created a system that uses all sorts of tactics to stall and tire a customer out to prevent them from canceling their subscriptions. The pathways are either you attempt to cancel online which may or may not work, or opting to call the cancellation department initially if online cancellation does not work. Then, depending on who you speak to, they may either send you away to call another department that will just reroute you or they will tell you to email incasso. Sometimes emailing works, sometimes it doesnt, and on special occasions you can sync a phone call at the same time as dealing with an email, where they will tell you they never received an email even though you can see it in front of you. After dealing with their internet side of business in a similar scenario, it is pretty obvious that the closer you are to the end of the subscription cycle the more they stall to push you over into the next month’s cycle so they can get that sweet, sweet, 18euro from you. I actually have a dedicated Odido mobile and internet folder, purely for tracking the insanity, filled with bills, correspondence, terms, forum posts, even articles from when they tried to rebrand (because they were the worst telecoms company when they were T-mobile as well) and articles from their much more recent massive “hiccup”.
After you’ve done all that and are graced with an email that acknowledges your existence, you get an approval for a buy-out where they require you to agree to pay all the fees before they are accurately calculated and proof that you have moved out of country, but…. not really. The requested documentation is your name on either a mobile subscription, internet subscription, gas/water/electricity contract or proof of registration with a municipality AT YOUR NEW ADDRESS ABROAD. Why not just the Declaration of Departure Abroad from the municipality you moved away from in the Netherlands? KPN was okay with this. They had zero problems. Simple document shows someone moved out of country. Best part is that after they list the documents, they request as proof then state that they will delete them from their systems after they check them. This part got to me. I can’t even continue this post.
Let me out of my contract with no fees. There are two phone numbers attached to it. Cancel both. I’ve sent more proof than I should have to incasso@odido.nl.
