Old Tele2 Client / New Odidp with Zyxel DX5401-B1 Port Forwarding Not working

The port forwarding on the DX5401-B1 modem just doesnt work at all.  When I try to set port forwarding (any port) I get the message port dubbel.

Also i notice that the modem keeps on ‘loosing’ IP addresses - even though theyve been reserved.

The modem is extremely basic - nothing like the latest ZTE modem given by Tele2

I’m certainly not a happy customer at the moment.

The customer support agent told me - oh you’ve got the old modem we send out to DSL customers…..they might have done something on the network to block all the ports….. (!!!!))

Can someone please tell me what might be wrong and how I can resolve this without cancelling my subscription - I’m still within my ‘right-to-cancel time.?

I see that there is one forwarding rule for the port range 1 through 7545.

Quick security advice:
Forwarding the entire 1–7545 range is absolutely not recommended—too many open ports can lead to conflicts and security issues.

Try removing that broad rule and instead forwarding only a single, specific port (for example, port 9000) as a test:

  1. Delete the existing 1–7545 rule.

  2. Add a new rule forwarding only port 9000 to your host.

Do you still get the same error when forwarding just port 9000? If so, let me know and we can dive deeper together.

Unfortunately, that isn’t accurate—the DX5401 is the newest modem we offer to our DSL customers.

Can you tell us which port forwarding you are trying to configure that does not work and when you get the error message.
