Hi odido community,

Recently, I bought a new sfp to my Mikrotik device and I would like to use it for connecting to internet. Can you help me to register sfp’s serial and activate my connection?

Hi @hekemen, welcome to our community!

You certainly can, you've come to the right place! Can I register the module at any time, or would you prefer to arrange a time for us to convert it via private messages? If so, please send me a private message with some dates and times that suit you.

Also, would you like to complete your profile by adding your date of birth and the serial number of the module? If the module comes from FS.com, you will need to request a username from them; otherwise, I won't be able to register it. I look forward to receiving your message.

Thanks for response @Tommie van Odido,

I bought my SFP+ from aliexpress. But, As far as I understand, it is a XPON sfp. (it is version DFP-34X-2c3) But I have checked my current huawei ont and it says that it its XGS-PON techology that used on it. I know that those techonology , X-PON and XGS-PON are not compatable each other. Can you validate that?

Hey @hekemen, I am not familiar with this module myself, but this is what I was able to find:  XPON is a term often used for modules that can switch between GPON (2.5 Gbps down / 1.25 Gbps up) and EPON, but it’s not the same as XGS-PON and won’t work on an XGS-PON network.

Stating this I think the DFP-34X-2C3 you mentioned is typically a GPON/EPON (XPON) module and unfortunately won't be compatible with XGS-PON technology. If you’re looking for a compatible SFP+ module, you’ll need one that specifically supports XGS-PON.
