Can I replace the T-Mobile modem with a Linksys Velop AC2600?

Hello,

I’m trying to connect my Linksys Velop AC2600 mesh wifi node directly to the output of the Huawei fiber → ethernet device, and I’m not able to get the internet to work.

I’ve looked around a bit, and it seems like I need to use DHCP + vlan 300 -- but there doesn’t appear to be an option for vlan in my router settings…

Is there some other way to make this work, or do I need to suck it up and use the modem provided by T-Mobile?

Thanks.

Hello @julian72

Can you follow the instructions on this page? If you don't have the VLAN tab then you can connect the T-Mobile router to the Huawei and your own router to LAN1 of the T-Mobile router.

Make sure the LAN IP of your own router is not the same as the T-Mobile router (192.168.1.1), give your own router a static IP address and make a DMZ rule in the T-Mobile router.
