Hello all! I'm very new to this, but hoping to improve my home network. After researching I am feeling overwhelmed and defeated. From what I can tell the Odido-issued Zyxel router is not sufficient as we have 45+ smart devices (light bulbs, cameras, google mini's, smart plugs, etc + more for Christmas time..) and Zyxel only supports 32. This explains why bulbs randomly go offline.. but worse is that sometimes our normal devices (iphones, tablets) can't connect at all. In my head, I'd like to put all the smart devices on their own network (dual 2.4 & 5ghz), and have a separate network (5ghz only) for our daily devices (phones, tablets). Last, and I'm not even sure if it's possible or necessary, would be a 3rd network with wifi 6 for gaming consoles. Occasionally, we will have 2 or 3 consoles on wifi together and if they could be on the fastest connection away from anything else interfering, the gamers would be very, very happy.
Upgrading to the newer Zyxel T-56 will not fix the smart device problem as it also only supports 32. Fritz!box seems to only support 30 devices AND I'll need an extra gateway. TP link also seems to only recommend 15 devices.. Then Ubiquiti offers 300, which seems like overkill.. Is there anything in the middle? OR have I completely misunderstood client handling? LOL
Budget is about €300..
My questions are:
1. Is separate networks a good solution and/or even possible? If not, what is possible or what would work better?
2. House has concrete walls/floors, so an extender may be needed. We have ethernet ports already upstairs, so what would be the best way to extend the signal (if even needed, to be honest there is only one small dead spot with the Zyxel now, so a better router may eliminate this all together)?
Current layout: We have a 1GB fiber optic connection (planning to upgrade to the 2BG in the future) through the Huawei modem to a Zyxel T-50 router (in a meter closet) in the entry way with an ethernet cable/port run to the living room, and 2 more in bedrooms upstairs on each side of the house. The port in the living room has a splitter with the TV, 2 gaming consoles, and the appleTV connected. Upstairs in the center of the house we have a wifi extender (also Zyxel WAP6807).

The 32 devices is no a hard limit on the Zyxel, but it is there for a reason: too many devices on a single AP wil decrease througput. The limit can be changed however If you open the routers webinterface go to the hamburger menu (top right) and open it → network setting - wireless, you will find the option Max Clients. Change that to what you need.
Another option probably is to rent a wireless extender from Odido as that limit is per AP normallly (I nver tried the Odido extender).
