No service with my SIM after being abroad and using another SIM from another carrier temporarily: When I place the SIM on the phone it says “No service”. For this reason, I cannot receive text messages  to access my ODIDO account using two step authentication.

Hi @mvioletab, welcome to our Community! Being abroad this time of the year sounds great, however you should have a good connection and I'm going to help you with that. I logged into your Mijn Odido account to see what's going on and where you currently are, and I see that you don't have an internet bundle for that area. You also don't have any barrings for roaming, so that's good. Can you manually connect to the network T-Mobile (USA)? And then send an SMS: PRIJS VERENIGDE STATEN to 5545? More information about the USA you find on this page.

Please let me know if it worked! 😄

Hi! Can you explain how to “manually connect to the network T-Mobile (USA)”? Do I need to adjust something in Cellular settings? (I use iOS). I tried sending a message to that number and it failed (which makes sense since I have “No service”). Please can you help?

Hi, good to hear that you're using iOS, makes it easier for me to check my own iPhone! Please first restart your phone and make sure you have your pincode from your sim card. To manually select a network you can go to Settings > Mobile service > Network Selection > Turn Automatic off. You should see T-Mobile (USA) in the list.

If this doesn't work, you can try to reset your network settings. Go to Settings > Mobile service > Mobile Data Network > Reset Settings (please note that you will lose your saved passwords for wifi-networks).

More information about possible solutions you can find on the Apple support page.

Please let me know if this fixes it for you! 😊

Hi! Phone rebooted, iOS updated, network settings reset, roaming on, automatic network selection off, T-Mobile manually selected…and still “No service”. What else can be done to reactivate my line? Will I receive a refund for all this time without service?

Hi, good to see that you've tried all these steps. If that didn't work, I will check if I can activate one of the data bundles for in the USA. Please let me know which one you would like:

  • Large (L) – 1000MB. Available for14 days. Costs; € 24,99
  • Medum (M) – 500MB. Available for 7 days. Costs: € 14,99
  • Small (S) – 250MB. Available for 72 hours. Costs: € 9,99
  • Extra Small (XS) – 100MB. Available for 24 hours. Costs: € 4,99
  • 5000MB for T-Mobile USA ONLY. Available for 30 days. Costs: € 19,99

If this works, I'm happy to look into a compensation for you!
