Dear Odido Team,

I need to cancel my internet contract with Odido as I am leaving the Netherlands on December 18, 2024.

Additionally, I need clarification on what to do with the router. Please provide clear instructions, as I will need to pass this information on to the building manager in case the router needs to be returned.

I have been trying to cancel the contract for over a week now. I visited the Odido store, but they directed me to call your customer service number. Unfortunately, I have wasted a significant amount of time trying to get through—waiting over 30 minutes daily for an answer. This is unacceptable and creates unnecessary delays in the notice period, making it nearly impossible to notify you of the termination in a normal manner.

Lastly, I would like to address my phone subscription. I do not wish to pay the full subscription fee after December 18, 2024, but I would like to retain my phone number. Could you please advise on how to proceed in this situation?

Hi ​@AnastasiyaIn order to cancel a subscription that's running within an annual contract, we need a proof of changing residence (proof of relocation). A proof of relocation is an official document. The following is eligible as a proof of moving: termination of rental contract from the landlord or a buyer's contract from an owner-occupied home. It can also be a lease or purchase agreement for the new address. Finally, we also accept proof of registration from the municipality (BRP). Hello ​@Anastasiya, Very understandable that you want to cancel your subscription because you are leaving for abroad. I checked right away and I see that you are still in contract until 10-4-2025. If you want to cancel it, you do need to buy out the subscription. You will then pay 50% of the monthly costs for the remaining months and the device credit you currently have outstanding (if you have it). Keep in mind to give one month's notice. If I process the cancellation for you today, the earliest it can be stopped is 4/01/25. Since you want to keep your number, I can arrange for your subscription to be converted to a PrePaid connection on that day, so your number will still remain active. You will then need to keep the number active once every 6 months. By active usage we mean: 

  • Calling yourself (if the call is answered)
  • Recording someone else's voicemail
  • Sending text messages
  • Top up credit yourself
  • Mobile internet
  • Forwarded call (only if the party forwarded to accepts the call).

If you perform 1 of the above items once every 6 months, your number will remain active. If not, it will expire, but you will receive reminders. We do not want to keep the number active on our network unnecessarily. 

I immediately made the calculation for you and if I convert the subscription to PrePaid on 04/01/24, it will cost you € 22,82. If you want this, I just need to do an additional verification to make sure you are the right person. I have therefore sent a verification code by text message to your number. Can you share it with me? Then I can take care of the cancellation and conversion to PrePaid for you!

Ok, could you clarify: I will need to pay off the current subscription (with 50% discount) and additionally pay 22,82 for the pre-paid plan?

I would love to take care of this for your husband as well. However, I can and may only help the subscription contractor. I had a call from Odido stating that prepaid sim is not suitable in my case as I won’t be able to activate in abroad. Hence, I asked  the Odido consultant keep my subscribtion (I will  only change the plan) and do not transfer my number to the pre-paid. Could you check that everything is settled correctly with my number?


Hi ​@Anastasiya, it's logical that you want to know if everything is going well. I immediately went to work for you and I see that the conversion to PrePaid has just been cancelled! Your subscription now remains and you can definitely keep using your number! Please let me know if you have any questions about this?
